Redmi India has launched their new budget smartphone Redmi 5A which will be successor of bestseller smartphone Redmi 4A.
The device will be available in two memory variants – 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage & 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage and further can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card slot.
On the specs side the new budget smartphone features 5-inch HD (1280 × 720 pixels) IPS display. Under the hood the Redmi 5A comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and couped with Adreno 308 GPU.
Talking about Camera Redmi 5A have 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and 5MP selfie shooter for selfie and video call with f/2.0 aperture.
The new Redmi 5A comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat powered by MIUI 9 out of the box. For connectivity the device have a dedicated 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and OTG support.
Like all the Redmi devices Redmi 5A also features infrared sensor for controlling TV and AC. The company uses 3,000 mAh battery to power up the device. It measures 140 x 70.1 x 8.35 mm and weights 137gm.
Taking about the design Redmi 5A comes with polycarbonate body with metal finish the device has already been launched in China so it has the same specs list but comes with a dedicated microSD card slot.
The device comes in color variants of Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold, and Rose Gold. Talking about the price the 2GB + 16GB variant costs ₹4,999 ($78) and 3GB + 32GB variant costs ₹6,999 ($109). The company has marked a the price of ₹5,999 for the first 5 million customers and later the price will be same.
